...as an 18yr old starting at Lotus was a dream come true and over the next 19 years I would progress from shop floor trimmer to development trimmer, Trim engineer to Color & Trim in the Design Studio working on many clients show cars to Lotus Engineering projects and prototype cars .During this time I work with the very best in the business, Mike Kimberly,PeterStevens, Roger Becker, Ken Sears, Ollie Winterbottom ,Julien Thomson, Simon Cox, Richard Rackham and Rob Dickinson who our paths would cross years later ....

What a classic this has turned out to be, the unforgiverble Green cloth to work with and the striking Tartan ,the Nextel Facia, the chrome bright trim , this interior was a piece of work to get right and to have Nick Fulcher looking over my shoulder this was a production interior with many challengers.

As develoment trim engineer on this project the interior for the iconic Essex turbo was to have the Gigario interior concept of Rouchsed leather at the time Rouse was not in any other production cars of the time and Lotus were pioneers of this technique .We had to develope a stitching strong enough to pull into the bolsters to create the now known Esprit interior.
